CABANATUAN CITY – The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) is offering about 600 free training programs in Nueva Ecija.

These programs are made available through 140 accredited Technical Vocational Institutions (TVIs) across the province.

TESDA Provincial Director Alvin Yturralde said that some of the most in-demand programs are in agriculture, tourism, food and beverage services, manufacturing, and construction.

“All of our programs, our courses, are free, wherein aside from being free, our trainees also receive a daily allowance. We also have what we call a free assessment, and it depends on the scholarship program whether it will include toolkits. Because some have toolkits, while some do not. But definitely, their training cost, their supplies, and materials are free,” he explained.

The training programs are offered year-round. Once scholarships are allocated, they are immediately distributed to TVIs with enrollees on the wait-list, allowing programs to start at any time.

Upon completing the program and passing the assessment, trainees will receive a National Certificate from TESDA, which will be beneficial for job opportunities both locally and abroad.

“The National Certificate we provide is highly valuable because it is recognized worldwide. We have many workers who have been able to work in other countries because they hold a National Certificate,” Yturralde emphasized.

Nueva Ecija has the highest number of registered programs and TVIs in the entire Central Luzon, encouraging more citizens to take advantage of these opportunities.

For enrollment or inquiries, interested individuals may visit the accredited TVIs in their respective areas or directly coordinate with TESDA Nueva Ecija Provincial Office located at the Old Capitol Compound in Cabanatuan City. (CLJD/ MAECR, PIA Region 3-Nueva Ecija)
