The mayoralty race in Angeles City is getting interesting as the contenders gears up for the grueling campaign that will start this month.
But despite all the issues being hurled against Mayoralty candidate Vice Mayor Bryan Nepomuceno, I still believe that he is still the man to beat in the upcoming elections.
Nepomuceno remains a strong contender for the mayoralty post since he enjoys the support of Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan who is also running under the Partylist Abeka.
But we cannot discount the fact that, Kambilan’s Mayoralty candidate Alexander Cauguiran could pull it off since he has been very much active and visible in Angeles City, and very much in touch with issues concerning the city. Cauguiran I would say is a formidable opponent if not the most qualified of them all.
He (Cauguiran) can be the next mayor.
Councilor Carmelo Pogi Lazatin Jr., is also gunning for the post and he is most likely to succeed since he is the son of the late Congressman Carmelo Tarzan Lazatin who also served as the city’s executive.
The younger Lazatin also enjoys the support of his brother First District Rep. Jonjon Lazatin and who knows he (Pogi) could win the mayoralty post.
But this will all be decided by the people of Angeles City come May 13, 2019.
Goodluck to the candidates and I am looking forward to a clean, honest and peaceful elections in Angeles City.
