SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – Nearly 2,000 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their families gathered at the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Caravan in San Fernando, Pampanga, on February 25, 2025, seeking government services and support. The event, held at the Bren Z. Guiao Sports Complex and Convention Center, brought together various agencies to offer employment assistance, legal aid, financial literacy, and healthcare services.

In a video message, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. emphasized that the caravan honors the sacrifices of OFWs by providing programs that help them “grow, excel, and prosper.” Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac assured attendees that the government remains committed to their welfare, whether they are working abroad or preparing for redeployment. “This event is for you. Your sacrifices fuel our nation’s dreams,” Cacdac said.
A key highlight was the signing of two agreements: one between the DMW, DOLE-Region III, TESDA-Region III, and the Pampanga provincial government, and another between the OFW Hospital, Jose B. Lingad Memorial Hospital, DOH-Central Luzon, and the provincial government. These aim to strengthen protections against illegal recruitment and improve healthcare services for OFWs in Pampanga.
The event also featured an overseas job fair with at least 20 Philippine recruitment agencies, drawing 1,930 jobseekers. Meanwhile, at least 100 OFWs received financial and livelihood assistance under the AKSYON Fund and LPOR program. Various government agencies, including DFA, NBI, SSS, Pag-IBIG, and OWWA, participated, with OWWA providing entertainment and prizes for OFW families.
