CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – A suspected street peddler of methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) was gunned down by authorities for allegedly resisting arrest during buy bust operations at Barangay Ninoy Aquino, Angeles City late Tuesday evening.
Three others were also arrested in separate anti-narcotics drive in Angeles City on the same day.
Central Luzon police director Chief Supt. Aaron Aquino identified the slain suspect as Augusto Dayrit, alias Maruso, a resident of said place.
Other suspects were Irene Pena, 47 and Roland Posadas, 36, both of Brgy. Lourdes Northwest and Ramil Susan, 42, of Brgy. Agapito del Rosario, all of Angeles City.
Aquino said the suspects were included in the police list of illegal drugs personalities operating in Angeles City.
Dayrit was arrested two years ago by lawmen for robbery hold-up offense. He reportedly jumped bail and went into hiding, according to police sources.
On Tuesday, undercover cops were tipped off on Dayrit’s illegal activities that prompted the police to launch buy bust operation along 2nd Street, corner M. Soledad which led to a bloody end of the suspect past 11 p.m.
A calibre .38 revolver was found from Dayrit possession. Police also recovered a tricycle (1699UX) believed used by the suspect in his illegal drug trade, pieces of sachets carrying suspected shabu and spent shells for calibre .45 pistol.
Meanwhile, police confiscated six sachets of shabu and illegal drugs paraphernalia from three suspects who admitted their involvement in shabu peddling in Angeles City.
The suspects were brought to Angeles City Police Office for further investigation as violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act is being readied against them.
