The Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Philippines, the marketing and promotions arm of the Department of Tourism (DOT), will hold the 14th Regional Travel Fair (RTF) in Roxas City, Capiz, from October 18 to 20, 2024.
The 14th installment of the RTF will spotlight the Western Visayas region, renowned for its rich cultural heritage, pristine coastal areas, and delectable cuisine. The event is expected to bring together local tourism stakeholders and travel enthusiasts to showcase the province’s diverse attractions and emerging destinations.
“We are thrilled to bring this year’s Regional Travel Fair to Roxas City, giving our dedicated tourism stakeholders the opportunity to showcase the rich heritage and natural beauty of Capiz and its neighboring provinces,” said TPB Chief Operating Officer Maria Margarita Montemayor Nograles. “This event not only boosts local tourism businesses but also encourages Filipinos to explore the hidden gems of the region, uncovering unique experiences and unforgettable journeys in these lesser-known destinations.”
The event kicks off on October 18 with a Business-to-Business (B2B) session at Circulo Convention Center. Provincial representatives and key industry players from airlines, hotels, and tour operators will gather to forge partnerships and explore new opportunities for promoting domestic travel. Featured provinces include Capiz, Antique, Aklan, Iloilo, Negros Occidental, and Guimaras, each showcasing their unique attractions to a curated group of buyers. The B2B sessions will culminate in a welcome dinner at Istorya Forest Garden, fostering networking and social interactions among exhibitors, media, and tourism officials.
On October 19 and 20, the RTF will open its doors to the general public with a Business-to-Consumer (B2C) fair at Robinsons Roxas. Visitors can take advantage of exclusive discounts on travel packages, airline tickets, accommodations, and local delicacies. The event will feature cultural presentations, interactive games such as Travel Bingo, and special product showcases from DOT regional offices and event sponsors. Local artisans will also display authentic Capiznon crafts and specialties for visitors to enjoy.
In addition to the B2B and B2C sessions, participating tourism stakeholders will take part in the Capiztahan Food Festival Night on October 17–a grand culinary celebration hosted by the Province of Capiz.
To further immerse guests in the region’s offerings, TPB has organized a special post-event tour, highlighting sites like the Pan-ay Church, Palina Greenbelt Ecopark, and the historic Roxas City Heritage District.
The 14th Regional Travel Fair is organized in collaboration with DOT Western Visayas, the City of Roxas, and the Province of Capiz, and in cooperation with 2GO, Cebu Pacific, Philippine Airlines, and Robinsons Roxas.
As the Regional Travel Fair series for 2024 comes to a close, the TPB remains committed to look promoting domestic tourism and unveiling new travel experiences for Filipinos.
