CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, PAMPANGA – The Department of Transportation (DOTr) and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) led the launching of “Tsuper Iskolar” in Region III held at SM Telebastagan, here.
About 500 individuals from different transport groups in the region attended the event.
According to Florencio Sunico, Jr., TESDA spokesperson, Tsuper Iskolar is a program jointly undertaken by DOTr and TESDA under the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP). It is aimed at giving the beneficiaries free trainings to fully understand the benefits of PUVMP.
Each beneficiary will also receive food and transportation allowance amounting to P350.00 per day for their 35-day training.
“After the training and assessment, participants will also receive NCII or certificates proving that they are professional drivers and operators,” Sunico, Jr. said.
The said program is in line with the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed by DOTr and TESDA for the Stakeholder Support Mechanism Component of PUVMP last December, 2018.
Meanwhile, Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda, through 3rd District Board Member Rosve Henson, expressed his gratitude and support for the program.
“We all know the importance of jeepney drivers in our society. Because of them, we are able to go anywhere we like in a more convenient way. So, we are really thankful to DOTr and TESDA for bringing this program here in Region 3,” said Henson.
Also in the event were Je-Jesus Sison, LTFRB chief of inspection; Rolly Casiclan, LTO chief; and Nenuca Tangonan, TESDA-III regional director.
