Pampanga Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda praised two employees of the provincial government for their honesty when they returned the P200,000 they found in a paper bag left in a toilet at the Capitol last Monday.
Governor Delta on Wednesday said Jason Jimenez and Kailo Enrile have embodied honesty in civil service and are worth emulating.
“Sa hirap ng buhay pinatunayan lang nila na may mabubuti pang tao sa panahon ngayon,” he said.
Both assigned in the Civil Security Unit (CSU), Jimenez on a casual status and Enrile on job-order, were doing the usual rounds of inspection when they saw a white paper bag inside one of the cubicles of the men’s toilet on the first floor around 11:30 a.m.
Without hesitation, they turned over the bag to the CSU, which forwarded the item to the Office of the Governor where the bills were counted. The bag contained P200,000 worth of cash and receipts of the owner for his quarry business.
The owner named Reynaldo Carlos claimed his money on Monday, an hour after it was lost.
“Nangibabaw pa rin ang habilin sa atin ng mahal nating governor na pangalagaan ang gamit na makikita sa loob ng Kapitolyo. Ang pera madaling makita pero ang tiwala ng mga tao mahirap hanapin,” Jimenez, 43-years-old said.
Governor Delta said Jimenez and Enrile set good examples among Capitol employees.
Amy Bondoc, head of the Human Resources Management Office (HRMO), has recommended the hiring of two for permanent and casual positions.
