The Vespa Club of the Philippines (VCOP), with full support from the Clark Development Corporation (CDC), has officially announced its bid to host Vespa World Days 2025 at the Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga.
If successful, this will mark the second time the prestigious event will be held in Asia, following the inaugural rally in Bali, Indonesia in 2022.
The recent Vespa World Days in Pontedera, Italy, attracted over 20,000 Vespas and 30,000 enthusiasts from countries around the world—including Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Spain, Austria, Switzerland, Australia, Hong Kong, Mexico, Argentina, the USA, Canada, Colombia, and the Philippines—to celebrate Piaggio’s 140th anniversary.
To strengthen the bid, CDC President Atty. Agnes VST Devanadera has requested the VCOP to submit detailed data on local Vespa enthusiasts, club memberships, dealers, and suppliers. Devanadera also pledged assistance in securing airline partnerships, hotel accommodations, media exposure, and restaurant collaborations, ensuring that all necessary bid requirements are met.
Through this collaboration, the Philippines is poised to become the next exciting destination for Vespa lovers worldwide.
Clark Museum Now Open for Vespistas
If you’re in Clark, don’t miss the newly opened Vespa Museum, which debuted just a week before the Pilipinas Vespa Days 2024. This exhibit showcases rare vintage Vespa models from 1945 to 1979, meticulously curated from private collections, alongside the latest models from 2021 to 2024 and other Vespa memorabilia. The exhibit runs at the Clark Museum from November 16 to 24.
The ribbon-cutting and media launch event was led by the Clark Development Corporation (CDC), under the leadership of Atty. Agnes VST Devanadera.
The VCOP also extended an invitation to enthusiasts to participate in the Pilipinas Vespa Days 2024, the country’s biggest Vespa celebration, which will take place on November 23-24 at the Clark Parade Grounds. Highlights of the event include scenic rides through Clark’s historic sites, live music, delectable food, and an engaging community of Vespa riders.
The Vespa Legacy
For potential buyers, Vespas tend to be pricier than most scooters, owing to their heritage, design, and strong resale value. While ₱200,000 may get you a 200cc model from other brands, Vespa’s 300cc models often surpass the price of expressway-legal motorcycles. The Vespa S 125 starts at ₱160,000, while the top-end GTV 300 is priced at ₱425,000.
For daily use, new or modern-used Vespas are ideal, requiring minimal maintenance. Vintage models, while nostalgic, require more frequent care—sometimes weekly. If budget allows, opting for a new Vespa is often the safer choice.
