CITY OF SAN FERNANDO—Doing motorcades can be tiresome but for re-electionist Gov. Dennis ‘Delta’ Pineda, the exhaustion is gone in an instant at the sight of posters made and displayed by voters.
“Masaya po. Yung posters nila nagpapakita ng effort at pagmamahal nila sa akin at sa mga Kapampangan,” the 48-year-old governor shared on Easter Sunday.
He had seen the handmade posters by the roadsides during his motorcades and musical concerts in Lubao, Guagua, Floridablanca, Mabalacat City Sasmuan, City of San Fernando, Arayat, Candaba, Masantol, San Luis, Apalit and Minalin since the start of the local election campaign last March 25.
Greeters usually hold plastic posters showing him, his mother, Vice Gov. Lilia Pineda, Kambilan partymates or national candidates.
The handmade posters are mostly made of cartolina, reused tarpaulin and cartons.
Often, colored markers are used to write the messages. The posters by a group called “Super Moms” in Minalin scribbled the words “We love you” and the governor’s name in crayons.
Voters write “Sure! Sure!” in reference to the chorus of the governor’s campaign jingle.
Others profess being “Solid” behind him. In Barangay San Juan in Apalit, they greeted him with heart signs and the promise: “No. 1 sa of puso namin.” A poster held by a man screamed: “Banya! Banya” or a call to a second win.Amazed at the expression of support, the governor took home some as mementos. “Nakaka-inspire po,” he said.
