Finally, the New Clark International Airport Passenger Terminal will be realized under the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte who strongly supports the development of the “Airport of the North.”
The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has already signed a memorandum of agreement with Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC) for the civil works of the new Clark Airport Passenger Terminal.
Some P2.89 billion has been earmarked by the DOTr for the civil works in preparation for the new second passenger terminal building at the 2,367 hectare Clark Civil Aviation Complex. The first phase of the project is designed to accommodate a passenger capacity of 8 million per annum that is expected to take-off by the middle of 2017.
The project will be implemented by CIAC, the operating arm of the Clark International Airport. The project will be completed by 2019 before President Duterte steps down from office.
Bases Conversion Development Authority (BCDA) President Vince Dizon is optimistic the project for Clark airport is now a reality.
The BCDA has recently launched the first leg of its Clark Development Projects Stakeholders’ Roadshow promoting the government’s various infrastructure programs for the country, particularly in the Central and Northern Luzon.
Among the projects lined-up are the Clark International Airport New Terminal Building Project; Manila-Clark Railway; Subic-Clark Railway; Clark Green City Mixed Use Development; Clark Green City Integrated Transport Systems Project; Clark Green City Government Center; Clark Green City Agro-Industrial Park; Clark Green City Food Processing Terminal and International Food Market; Clark Green City Energy Management System; and Clark Green City Integrated Care Development Center.
These are the projects under the Duterte administration that will benefit communities in Central and Northern Luzon. We will now see a government that will build, build, build for the development of the whole country.
