Wu Xing, the premier Chinese restaurant at Clark Marriott Hotel, is set to launch an exquisite degustation menu this April, offering a refined culinary experience that highlights the elegance and depth of Chinese gastronomy. A select group from the Central Luzon Media Association (CLMA) Pampanga chapter had the privilege of previewing this multi-course feast, which showcased a masterful balance of tradition and innovation.

The degustation began with Roasted Beijing Duck, served in classic pancake wraps with hoisin sauce. The crispy skin and succulent meat, paired with the sauce’s delicate sweetness, set the tone for a meticulously curated meal. Scallop Dumplings, infused with shrimp and squid ink, followed, their briny essence complemented by a luxurious touch—a golden leaf adorning each delicate parcel.

A warm Spinach Soup with Fish Maw provided a nourishing pause, its velvety texture and mild, comforting flavors enhancing the experience. This was followed by Homemade Tofu in Abalone Sauce, where silky tofu met earthy shimeji mushrooms in a rich, umami-laden dish that paired beautifully with jasmine rice.

The star of the spread, Roasted Pork Belly, impressed with its perfectly crisp skin and tender, flavorful meat—a testament to the chef’s precision and expertise. Meanwhile, the Wok-Fried Prawns in Oyster Sauce, accompanied by fragrant rice, offered a balance of sweetness and savoriness, with each bite revealing the prawns’ natural juiciness.

For dessert, Wu Xing presented Mango Cream Sago with Pomelo, a refreshing blend of creamy mango, chewy sago pearls, and bursts of citrus. This light yet indulgent finale encapsulated the restaurant’s philosophy of harmonizing flavors and textures, ensuring a satisfying end to the meal.

With its refined ambiance and expertly crafted dishes, this dining destination is set to elevate the culinary landscape in Pampanga and beyond.
