TARLAC CITY – Gov. Susan Yap recently led the simultaneous lighting of Christmas ornaments and decorations at the Maria Cristina Park, capitol building and Museo ng Tarlac. The holiday season has officially begun at the provincial Capitol.
Included in the simultaneous lighting is the giant Christmas tree decorated with giant boxes resembling Christmas gifts. In the past, lanterns and a giant Christmas ball were featured in the huge Christmas tree.
Yap said that the province has a lot to thank for this year.
She also urged all Tarlaqueños to unite this yuletide
season and do away with personal bickering.
Assisting the governor during the lighting were Board Members Antonio Cervantes Jr. and Joy Gilbert Lamorena and Tourism Officer Arsenio Lugay II.
Department heads and employees of the provincial
government and ordinary Tarlaqueños witnessed the simple ceremony. The award-winning Tarlac National High School chorale rendered several
Christmas songs and a fireworks display was also witnessed,
