IN HONOR of the valuable support in upholding the Chevalier School students’ right to education, continued existence and educational service to Angeles City, the Sacred Heart Seminary-Chevalier School Alumni Association and the Parents-Teachers Association will present
Appreciation Plaques to key personalities who crusaded—fearlessly and bravely— to save the 61-year old school from sudden closure. Otherwise 1,300 students will be displaced and 89 teaching and non-teaching personnel will be rendered jobless as collateral damages amid the land dispute between the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart and the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of San Fernando Pampanga.
But all’s well that ends well. The long battle has been resolved amicably allowing the school to operate until 2033 pursuant to an RTC Ruling won by the CS stakeholders.
Among the recipients are: Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr., Vice Mayor Vicky Vega Cabigting, members of the City Council, media outfits Iorbitnewsonline, Brigada, Punto and CLTV36, and notable personalities such as CS PTA lawyer Regina Cortez Gopez. Councilor Alfie Bonifacio will receive a Plaque “With Our Greatest” Appreciation for spearheading the City Council’s support.
Meanwhile, Iorbitnewsonline’s founder and president Diosdado “Deng” Pangilinan aka “The Silent Worker” of Mabalacat City will receive the award.

The plaques will be presented by Victor Joaquin “VJ” Tanglao, SHS-CS Alumni Association President and Fernan Panlilio, CS PTA President in a simple awarding ceremony on August 5, 2021, Session Hall, Legislative Building, Angeles City Hall compound.
