10 fall in CL ‘meth’ crackdown

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Government anti-narcotics agents arrested over the weekend 10 suspected illegal drugs traffickers in separate buy bust operations in Pampanga, Bulacan and Tarlac leading to the seizure of some 240 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) with an estimated street value of P960,000, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency said in a statement.

PDEA3 Director Juvenal Azurin identified the suspects as Ceferino D. De Dios, 41; and Rusty R. Manlutac, 39, both were arrested during drug bust at Villa Classica Subdivision at Barangay Alas-as, City of San Fernando.

Others were Rowena N. Querol, alias Menang, 35; Analiza C. Reyes,36; Melani Abalos, 45; Robert S. Escanela,26 and Victor M. Briguel, 24, all residents of Barangay Sto. Cristo, City of San Jose del Monte in Bulacan.

Azurin said Querol is the alleged maintainer of the drug den which was raided by PDEA operatives. The group was having pot session at Northridge Subdivision when caught by surprised by the raiding team past 3 p.m Friday.

Over in Tarlac City, PDEA agents pounced on suspected street pushers during drug deal along Tanedo Street, Barangay Poblacion. The suspects were Yahya A. Malang, 23; Liklik M. Markakim, 20 and Normaliah M. Datuon, 21.

Azurin said more than 100 grams of shabu were seized in Pampanga and Tarlac stings and another 100 grams in Bulacan.

“This is a product of joint effort between PDEA, PNP and other Intel units as part of the government drug war”, said Azurin.

PDEA is now the lead agency in the government campaign against illegal drugs after President Duterte ordered the PNP to stop oplan Tokhang and the operations against the prohibited substance.

The suspects were brought to PDEA regional headquarters for further investigation as violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act is being readied against them.
