17th Bright Leaf Agri Journalism Awards Open for Submissions

Clark Freeport, Pampanga—-The 17th Bright Leaf Agriculture Journalism Awards has officially opened its doors for submissions. The theme for this year, “Illuminating Change,” beckons participants to contribute their work across a range of categories, including Agriculture Story of the Year, Tobacco Story of the Year, and others.

Entries, which can include articles, photographs, television, and radio programs, must have been aired or published between July 1, 2023 and August 31, 2024, to be considered eligible. The deadline for submissions is September 1, 2024.

The kickoff and onsite registration of this year’s face-to-face caravan in Subic Bay was a resounding success on March 5, providing a platform to discuss the upcoming Bright Leaf Agriculture Journalism Awards. Additionally, the second caravan took place today at Widus Hotel, Clark Freeport Zone.

Joining Renes is Didet Danguilan, PMFTC PR consultant, shared the awards originated from Philip Morris Philippines Manufacturing Inc. (PMFTC) in 2007. The title “Bright Leaf” stems from the transformation of the Virginia Tobacco leaf, which adopts a vibrant yellow hue post-curing.

PMFTC manufactures cigarettes, smokeless tobacco products, and conducts research and development activities on tobacco-related diseases.
