2 MSMEs in Bataan bag Likha ng Central Luzon awards

BALANGA CITY — Two micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Bataan were awarded Wednesday by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) during the opening of Likha ng Central Luzon Trade Fair 2019.

Amanda’s Marine Products was recognized as the 3rd 2018 Likha Top Seller and Likha Gem Award for Bataan.

The local smoked fish and bagoong manufacturing business have generated about PhP2.1 million out of more than PhP63.5 million sales from last year’s 167 participating MSMEs in the region.

Amanda Battan, the owner of Amanda’s Marine Products, expressed her gratitude for the continuous exposure provided by DTI.

“I was surprised and at the same time thankful for receiving these awards which I really did not expect,” she said.

Meanwhile, Khalimah Handicrafts and Souvenirs was conferred with the Green Product Award.

Business owner Marlon Pabustanwas also delighted after receiving the award that recognizes eco-friendly products showcased in the annual trade fair.

His products are home decors and novelty items made from bamboo that promotes the culture of Bataan.

The two awardees join a total of 22 MSMEs in Bataan participating in the trade fair which will be open until October 6 at SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City. (CLJD/MJSD-PIA 3)
