23 juvenile law offenders bolt Bahay Tanglaw Pag-asa in Bulacan

CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan – At least 23 “children in conflict with the law “ or CICL escaped from the Bahay Tanglaw Pag-asa BTP in Bgy. Guinhawa here on Monday night.

Initial reports said seven of the “juvenile inmates” have been arrested and are now back at the BTP.

Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado, however, said parents of the 16 other CICL went and talk to him and promised him that they will surrender them back in the soonest possible time.

Alvarado said the juvenile reformation and correctional facility is under going renovation. He said the CICL escaped thru a gap in the comfort room where renovation is going on.

A police team from the Provincial Pulic Safet Company of the Bulacan PNP chased them and managed to arrest seven of them.

Bulacan Provincial Jail Warden Retired Police Colonel. Fernando Villanueva is now investigating the incident.

The Bahay Tanglaw Pag-asa is under the supervision of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office. At present there are at least less than one hundred CICL detained there who have cases ranging from rape, robbery and violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
