MALASIQUI, Pangasinan – Some 391,961 beneficiaries of the social amelioration program (SAP) in Pangasinan have received the second tranche of the cash subsidy from the national government under the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
In an interview Wednesday, DSWD Ilocos region information officer Darwin Chan said the number is 88 percent of the total beneficiaries in the province.
He said the government has released PHP2.15 billion for the second tranche in the province as of 8 p.m. on Sept. 8.
Meanwhile, some 14,074 beneficiaries under the waitlisted category have received SAP’s second tranche in the province.
The government has released PHP77.4 million for the waitlisted, or those who applied for the program during the first wave of distribution but were not included in the list. They were qualified upon verification of the agency.
DSWD earlier distributed over PHP513 million to some 123,789 members of the Pantawid Pamilya Pilipino Program (4Ps) in the province for the second tranche of cash subsidy under SAP.
Each beneficiary has received PHP5,500.
