CAMP GEN ALEJO S SANTOS, City of Malolos, Bulacan— Police has stepped up its crackdown against violators of Republic Act 7183 otherwise known as the “Firecracker Law”‘
Three suspects were arrested for illegal transporting of pyrotechnics in Brgy. Pulong Buhanging, Sta. Maria town Thursday night.
Bulacan police director Senior Supt. Romeo CaramatJr., identified the arrested suspects as; 1) Maria Socorro Ignacio y De Guzman, 40 years old, married, vendor, resident of Brgy. Pulong Yantok, Angat, Bulacan; 2) Mercy Napiza y Dela Cruz, 58 years old, married, vendor, resident of No. 416, Brgy. Pulong Yantok, Angat, Bulacan; and 3) Romy Reyes y Santos, 51 years old, single, tricycle driver, resident of Bgry. Partida, Norzgaray, Bulacan.
Supt. Raniel Valones, Sta. Maria Police Chief , said that while patrol members of Sta Maria MPS were conducting Oplan Sita in Brgy. Pulong Buhangin, Sta Maria, Bulacan, police officers flagged down two (2) tricycles identified as Rusi tricycle with plate number 3119ON driven by Maria Socorro Ignacio y De Guzman one Motorstar tricycle with plate number 2352OR, driven by Romy Reyes y Santos. The officers noticed that tricycles were loaded with pyrotechnics devices (fountain). The drivers were asked for their cargo’s pertinent documents pertaining to the transportation of pyrotechnics devices and permit of the manufacturer or license of the intended recipient. Drivers failed to present any. Thereafter, suspects were informed of their constitutional rights and arrested for illegal transporting of illegally manufactured pyrotechnics devices.
Recovered from the suspects were 160 pieces of Sputnik Gold Special fountain without label and 300 pieces of small fountain with label Evelyn Pyrothechs Bocaue, Bulacan. Criminal complaints for Violation of R.A 7183 (Illegal transporting of Pyrotechnics) are now being prepared against the arrested suspects for filing before the Office of Provincial Prosecutor, City of Malolos. –Emil Gamos
