Some 400 students from all Day Care Centers and Child Development Centers in the 35 barangays of the City of San Fernando participated in this year’s Camp Bulilit held at the Sindalan Sports Complex.
Assistant City Social Welfare and Development Officer Aileen Villanueva said the activity, now on its 3rd year, is held in line with Children’s Month celebration anchored on the theme “Bata’y Arugain, Karapatan Pangalagaan at Pagyamanin tungo sa kinabukasang maningning.”
For his part, Mayor Edwin “EdSa” Santiago said the Camp Bulilit offers play, fun-filled and educational activities that are essential in developing every child’s skills and potential.
The activities include the discussion of the rights of a child, fire safety seminar and junior kiddie fire marshal, hands-on training on container farming, parent and child showcase of talents and various fun games.
Selected Day Care workers also designed four camp stations where pretend play activities, storytelling, quiet games and outdoor games were simultaneously conducted.
Meanwhile, also highlight of the program is the awarding of outstanding Child Development Workers for the months of June to September.
The awardees were Rizalda Quimbao of San Jose 2 Day Care Center, Lichelle Razon of Northville 2 Child Development Center, Annallee Nucup of Lara Day Care Center and Jaclyn Bunao of Sto. Nino of Child Development Center.
