73 Covid patients in Bulacan recovered

The Provincial Government of Bulacan through the Provincial Health Office-Public Health said 73 Covid-19 patients have recovered as of Saturday afternoon.

Bulacan Governor Daniel Fernando said that it is good news knowing the number of recoveries in the province is continuously growing.

According to PHO-PH Head Dr. Jocelyn Gomez, the City of San Jose del Monte has recorded 12 recovered patients; the City of Malolos and town of Bulakan have 7 recovered patients each; the towns of Baliwag and Marilao have recorded 6 recovered patients each; Bocaue with a total of 5 recoveries; the towns of Calumpit, Santa Maria and the City of Meycauayan with 45 recovered patients each; towns of Pandi, Guiguinto and San Rafael have recorded 3 recoveries each; the towns of Angat and Pulilan with 2 recovered patients each; and the towns of Balagtas, Bustos, Hagonoy and San Ildefonso have 1 recovered patients each.

The governor added the relief operations are still ongoing and as of May 21, 2020, the Provincial Government has already distributed a total of 784,822 food packs to Bulakenyos.

It was learned that in spite of the recoveries, the covid cases in the province reached to 166 confirmed cases with 30 deaths, 2 probable and 1,468 suspects.

Fernando added the province is continuously conducting mass testing especially that the implementation of modified enhance community quarantine is almost through.

“Ang Bulacan sa ngayon ay patuloy sa proseso ng pag-mass swabbing. Kabilang dito ang mga frontliners at medical workers natin na sinimulan i-swab kamakailan. Habang tayo ay nalalapit sa huling araw ng modified enhanced community quarantine, pinagsisikapan po natin na lahat sila ay ma-test na para makatulong sa pagpigil sa mabilis na pagkalat ng sakit,” Fernando said.

Moreover, Bulacan has previously distributed swab testing kits to the local government units through the help of the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) and Department of Health (DOH) wherein the PRC has disseminated 1,335 swab kits and 1,066 specimens came back and were submitted to their laboratory for confirmation while the DOH has dispersed 928 swab kits and 611 specimens came back and were submitted to their lab to find the results.

Based on PHO report, in the last four days there were registered of fourteen new covid cases including two children, a boy and a girl both three years old from the towns of Plaridel and Bulakan; a 53-year old male from Angat; 51-year old male from Guiguinto; 30-year old male and 29-year old female both from City of San Jose Del Monte; a 16-year old male from San Rafael; 33-year old male from Marilao; 36-year old male from Meycauayan City; 69-year old male from Baliuag; 37-year old male from Hagonoy, 78-year old male from Bustos and a 23-year old female from Sta Maria.

The top 5 cities and municipalities with high number of covid cases were the City of San Jose Del Monte with 25 confirmed cases; Marilao town with 19 cases; City of Malolos with 18 cases; Baliuag with 16 cases and both Sta Maria an Bocaue with 12 cases each.

It was learned that PRC swabs in Bulacan has 907 pending results, 291 with results and only three were positive while 130 are waiting for swab test.The governor continue appealing to his fellow Bulakenyos to still stay at home while still under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ).
