755 indigents, reformists render ‘community service’

Vice Mayor Christian Halili, Barangay Cacutud Chairman Arnold Reyes and City Social Welfare and Development Office head Josephine Tanglao distribute P2,500 each to some 755 indigent and reformists from Mabalacat City’s 27 barangays who rendered community service. The temporary workers were hired under the ‘Cash for Work’ program of the City Social Welfare and Development Office. Cash-for-Work is a short-term intervention to provide temporary employment to distressed or displaced individuals. The temporary workers participated in preparedness, mitigation, relief, rehabilitation or risk reduction projects and activities in their communities or in evacuation centers. The beneficiaries have rendered community service for ten days from November 19 to 30 and December 1 to 14.
