PORAC, Pampanga – Despite a dismissal order from the Office of the Ombudsman, Porac Mayor Jaime “Jing” Capil on Thursday, April 4, said he will continue his reelection campaign, asserting his belief in “true justice.”
Capil was found guilty of gross neglect of duty in connection with the operation of an illegal Philippine offshore gaming operator (POGO) in Porac. The Ombudsman imposed penalties including dismissal from service, cancellation of eligibility, forfeiture of retirement benefits, and perpetual disqualification from holding public office.
“Bagamat labis ko po itong ikinalungkot… buo po ang aking loob na ito ay haharapin natin,” Capil said, adding that he will pursue legal remedies. He also rallied support from his constituents, vowing to press on with his bid under Team Bayung Porac.
