Transport Secretary Vince Dizon has announced a comprehensive modernization plan for EDSA, describing the iconic but congested thoroughfare as “long overdue for an upgrade.”
Dizon outlined key infrastructure improvements, including lane reassignments, expanded sidewalks, and full road asphalting from Monumento to Pasay. The goal, he said, is to enhance mobility, ensure pedestrian safety, and restore the functionality of one of Metro Manila’s most critical arteries.
The EDSA overhaul is being rolled out alongside efforts to fast-track the completion of the Unified Grand Central Station — a long-delayed project that will serve as a central hub connecting MRT-3, MRT-7, LRT-1, and the upcoming Metro Manila Subway.
