VIGAN, ILOCOS SUR — The MPTC Tour of Luzon 2025 continued its strong push into the national spotlight as Stage 2, a Team Time Trial, wrapped up with a powerful showing by the country’s top cycling squads along the Paoay-to-Vigan route.
Standard Insurance Philippines emerged as the clear leader, clocking the best time of the stage and reaffirming its position as a dominant force in the sport. Go for Gold Philippines followed in close pursuit, securing second place with a well-coordinated team effort. 7-Eleven Cliqq Roadbike Philippines rounded out the podium in third, highlighting the depth of talent in the growing local cycling scene.

The historic city of Vigan, known for its cobblestone streets and colonial architecture, served as a picturesque finish line—offering a unique fusion of sport and heritage that aligns with the Tour’s branding as both a competitive and cultural showcase.
With the race now halfway through its northern stages, the MPTC Tour of Luzon is also playing a broader role in the country’s efforts to re-enter the UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale) Calendar. Organizers see the event not only as a test of athletic endurance but as a vehicle for regional tourism and economic momentum in host communities.
The next stages promise tougher terrain and even fiercer competition as teams chase glory and help push Philippine cycling back onto the global map.
