The Philippine Air Force (PAF) marked another milestone in enhancing its airlift capabilities with the formal turnover of one C-295 medium-lift aircraft, which recently completed its 4-Year Inspection under Airbus Defence and Space’s Full In-Service Support (FISS) Program.

The ceremony took place on May 15, 2025, at Colonel Jesus Villamor Air Base in Pasay City, with PAF Commanding General Lieutenant General Arthur M. Cordura as Guest of Honor.

Airbus Defence and Space representative Mr. Juha Hekka Hoikka officially handed over the aircraft’s documents to the PAF. In turn, the PAF transferred another C-295 to Airbus for its scheduled 4-Year Inspection.

Lt. Gen. Cordura highlighted the PAF’s transition from reactive maintenance to a culture of planned and sustained readiness. He noted that performance-based logistics, in partnership with Airbus, is crucial for ensuring reliable, mission-focused operations.

“These aircraft underscore our commitment to operational excellence and our transformation into a mission-ready, values-driven force capable of both defense and humanitarian support,” Cordura said.

The C-295s will bolster the PAF’s capacity for tactical airlift, disaster response, and troop deployment, further reinforcing national readiness for a broad range of missions.
