
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), in partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd), has officially launched the Konsulta provider clinic of the DepEd regional office in Central Luzon—the first of its kind among DepEd regional offices nationwide.
PhilHealth Region III Acting Vice President Henry Almanon said the clinic will offer primary care services, including medical check-ups or consultations, diagnostic and laboratory tests, and maintenance medicines to teachers, students, faculty, administrative staff, and their family members.
“Ang battlecry ng PhilHealth ay magbigay ng mga benepisyo at serbisyong mabilis, patas at mapagkakatiwalaan. Layunin ng PhilHealth na paigtingin ang ating mga programang pangkalusugan, katuwang ang DepEd para sa healthy teachers, healthy students, healthy communities. Gamitin po natin ang Konsulta at iba pang pinalawak na benepisyo ng PhilHealth (The battle cry of PhilHealth is to provide benefits and services that are fast, fair, and trustworthy. Moreover, Almanon noted that PhilHealth aims to cover all provinces in Central Luzon through the accreditation of Konsulta providers and facilities, registration and assignment, and ensuring accessibility and utilization of Konsulta benefit packages to promote happier and healthier members.
Meanwhile, DepEd Assistant Regional Director Jessie Amin underscored the importance of establishing a functional clinic for DepEd personnel and learners.
He also expressed hope for potential financial support from PhilHealth to ensure the sustainability of the Konsulta provider clinic.
Since 2024, the DepEd regional office in Central Luzon has integrated the PhilHealth Learners’ Material into its DepEd Portal and engaged teachers and students in discussions to raise awareness about PhilHealth benefit programs and services.
