The Hotels and Restaurants Association in Pampanga Inc. (HARP) has publicly expressed its “sincerest gratitude and appreciation” to Department of Tourism – Philippines (DOT) Secretary Maria Esperanza Christina Garcia-Frasco, commending her leadership in the revitalization and ongoing development of the Philippine tourism industry.

In a unified statement, HARP lauded Secretary Frasco for her “commendable dedication, outstanding leadership, and inclusive management” which they credit with not only restoring the tourism sector from the severe impacts of the pandemic but also transforming and boosting its development to the present day. The association highlighted that the “renewed inspiration and continued perseverance” of tourism stakeholders are direct reflections of her “passion, focus, and indomitable leadership.”

HARP recalled the challenging period at the onset of the nation’s recovery from the pandemic, noting that the tourism industry was among the hardest hit and slowest to recuperate. It was during this critical time, they stated, that Secretary Frasco initiated the country-wide “DOT Listening Tours.”
These tours, according to HARP, effectively “bridged the gap” between the DOT and key tourism players, allowing the Secretary to genuinely listen to their struggles, provide immediate solutions, and foster long-term goals for advancement.

“Taking cognizance of HARP’s role and contributions in the tourism landscape of the region, she has established and earned our trust and confidence. And for which, we will always be grateful for,” the association’s statement read.
“We shall stand by her leadership and remain hopeful for the continuation of her exceptional service. Mabuhay ang Turismo!,” HARP concluded in its statement.
