Governor Nanay’s oath to Kapampangans: “Magserbisyu ku pu 24/7”

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — “Magserbisyu ku pu 24/7.” This was the heartfelt promise of newly elected Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda during her oath-taking ceremony held on Thursday, June 12, coinciding with the celebration of Independence Day.

Governor Pineda took her oath of office before Supreme Court Senior Associate Justice Mario Victor Leonen, witnessed by mayors, vice mayors, councilors from across the province, as well as department heads, hospital chiefs, and employees of the provincial government.

Alongside Governor Pineda, several other officials also took their oath of office, including Vice Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda, former President and 2nd District Representative Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, 4th District Representative Anna York Bondoc, Lubao Mayor Esmeralda Pineda, Lubao Councilor Jayson Victorino, and other members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.

In her speech, Governor Pineda commended the achievements of her son, outgoing Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda, for his dedicated service and transformative leadership over the past years.

“Proud ako sa kanya, lalo na nung COVID-19. Nagkasakit kami, pati tatay pero sabay niyang nagawa responsobilidaf niya para sa mga Kapampangan kumpara sa iba pang probinsya. Sobrang dami ng accomplishment niya, sa figures pa lang makikita mo na 90% nagtrabaho siya,” she remarked.

She also gave her assurance to the people of Pampanga that she, together with Vice Governor Delta, will work tirelessly to reach every corner of the province and implement programs aimed at improving the lives of all Kapampangans.

“Hindi ako nasasaktan pag sinasabihan ako na Dynasty kasi responsobility ang minamana, nagtutulungan kami para mapabuti buhay ng mga Kapampangan. Basta gusto kami ng Kapampangan, okay kami. Gusto ko lang may maiwan na ala-ala para sa mga Kapampangan,” she said.

Governor Pineda now begins her fourth term as provincial chief executive, having previously served as governor from 2010 to 2019, followed by a term as vice governor.
