CLARK FREEPORT ZONE, Pampanga – The Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Kyong-Ho Engineering & Architects for sustainable infrastructure initiatives.

The South Korea-based firm, known for its expertise in construction engineering, planning, design, project management, and climate-responsive solutions, will support the implementation of CIAC’s seven flagship projects.

The partnership focuses on the development of two major components of CIAC’s urban renewal and heritage conservation program, including the Dolores River Park and the Clark Aviation Park.

CIAC President and CEO Jojit Alcazar said the partnership supports the state-owned firm’s efforts to transform Clark into a model for sustainable urban development.

“The Dolores River Park project exemplifies our commitment to sustainable growth that supports both regional and national development goals,” he said.

The project is envisioned as a 3.9-kilometer eco-urban corridor along Clark’s creekside road, running parallel to the Sacobia River which borders the provinces of Pampanga and Tarlac.

The park aims to restore natural ecosystems, enhance biodiversity, and address the looming water crisis through innovative water management systems.

Inspired by global best practices such as Singapore’s Clarke Quay, the development will feature green landscapes, pedestrian-friendly pathways, sustainable mobility infrastructure, and integrated commercial and recreational zones.

The project will also incorporate advanced water catchment systems and climate-resilient designs to ensure long-term sustainability.

Meanwhile, the Clark Aviation Park is planned as a multifunctional community center that integrates a rainwater harvesting and filtration system to support operations, and will serve as a demonstration site for sustainable technologies and design.

The MOU also outlines areas of collaboration including joint research and development, technology transfer, technical training, knowledge exchange sessions, and capacity-building programs.

Both the Dolores River Park and Clark Aviation Park projects are integral to the broader vision of developing Clark as the country’s premier aviation and logistics hub. (CLJD/MJSC, PIA Region 3-Pampanga)
