CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – The Central Luzon Media Association (CLMA) Pampanga Chapter held its 7th Campus Journalism Workshop on Wednesday, July 16, at the University of the Assumption, continuing its mission to nurture responsible student journalism in the province.
The workshop gathered aspiring campus journalists from Regina, the university’s official student publication, for a day of learning, mentorship, and hands-on media training.

CLMA Pampanga President Mark Allen Sison opened the program, affirming the organization’s commitment to empowering the next generation of ethical and skilled journalists.
Chairman Emeritus Caesar “Bong” Lacson of Punto Central Luzon delivered an in-depth lecture covering editorial writing, opinion pieces, and development communication, emphasizing the foundational principles of solid journalism.

Broadcast journalists Gracie Rutao of ABS-CBN and Luisse Gabrielle Rutao of GMA News shared real-world experiences from inside the newsroom, giving participants a clearer view of media practice beyond the classroom.

CLMA Executive Vice President Albert Lacanlale of RW 95.1 and Sunstar Pampanga tackled the growing role of artificial intelligence in journalism, highlighting both the opportunities and ethical considerations for its use in reporting.
The event concluded with remarks from CLMA Pampanga Chairman Boy Santiago of RW 95.1FM, who reaffirmed the group’s commitment to building a strong culture of truth and integrity in campus media.

Now on its seventh run, the workshop remains a free, community-driven initiative, reflecting CLMA Pampanga’s ongoing efforts to support and shape future leaders in journalism.
