SANTA RITA, Pampanga – The local government of Santa Rita is doubling down on relief and mitigation efforts after heavy rains caused damage to slope protection in Barangay San Isidro and left thousands affected by flooding.
On July 26, local responders led by Mayor Reynan Calo conducted emergency sandbagging operations at a damaged section of creek slope in Sitio Gasak, Barangay San Isidro. The quick response, done in coordination with the Municipal Engineering Office, aimed to prevent further erosion and flooding in the area.

Councilors Jessie Pineda and Nat Gopez joined the on-site inspection and response, reinforcing the local government’s hands-on approach.
Meanwhile, the municipal government has distributed 7,321 food packs to affected households across Santa Rita as of 8:00 PM, July 26. Mayor Calo said the LGU is working to reach all households in the coming days.

“We’re doing everything we can to ensure both safety and sustenance for all Santa Riteños,” the mayor said.
To sustain operations, the LGU is accepting donations to augment its buffer stock of food and relief items. Residents and organizations are encouraged to coordinate with the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) for donations and support.
The dual effort highlights the town’s commitment to immediate disaster response while proactively preparing for further impacts of inclement weather.
