LUBAO, Pampanga – A total of 696 student-beneficiaries from Lubao received their wages under the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES), a joint initiative of the local government and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
Of the total, 300 SPES beneficiaries received 60% of their wages from the municipality amounting to ₱1,992,600, while 396 students were granted 100% wage payouts, totaling ₱4,383,720 from local government funds.
SPES provides employment opportunities for students, helping them earn income while supporting their education. Local officials said the program demonstrates how strong partnerships between DOLE and LGUs make dreams possible for the youth.
