MANILA, Philippines – President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has accepted the resignation of Public Works and Highways Secretary Manuel Bonoan, effective September 1, 2025.
Replacing him is Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Vince Dizon, who will take over the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), according to Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Secretary Dave Gomez.
“Secretary Dizon has been tasked to conduct a full organizational sweep of the Department and ensure that public funds are used solely for infrastructure that truly protects and benefits the Filipino people,” the PCO said in a statement.
Bonoan, who assumed office in 2022, exits the DPWH amid persistent controversies hounding big-ticket flood control and infrastructure projects.
