MALOLOS CITY – Dialysis patients in Malolos, as well as from other parts of Bulacan, can avail free sessions in the newly-inaugurated City Hemodialysis Center located beside the Cathedral-Basilica Minore in the downtown.
Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) Regional Office III-Branch B Acting Branch Manager Arlan Granali has assured that every dialysis patient in the facility will be able to avail up to P6,350 per session.
He stated that this is part of the expanded coverage of PhilHealth as mandated by Republic Act 11223, otherwise known as the Universal Health Care Act of 2019.
Through PhilHealth Circular 2024-0023, the financial package for chronic kidney disease Stage 5 patients now brings up to nearly P1 million.
The Malolos City Hemodialysis Center was established through a public-private partnership (PPP) between the city government of Malolos and Premier 101, the private concessionaire.
Mayor Christian Natividad said this is the first PPP dialysis center in the city, and now the largest dialysis center in Bulacan with 40 dialysis machines. It can accommodate up to 100 dialysis patients per day or up to 600 per week.
The two-story building is the second PPP project entered by the city government since the establishment of the Malolos Terminal Hub with Xentro Mall in 2015.
Apart from the free dialysis sessions guaranteed by PhilHealth, the private concessionaire will also provide a sack of rice to every patient after their sessions. (CLJD/SFV, PIA Region 3-Bulacan)
