CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — Three local associations in Pampanga received ₱450,000 each under the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), in partnership with the Provincial Government of Pampanga led by Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda.

The financial assistance will serve as seed capital for the Barangay Patrol Sidecar Fabrication Project, a livelihood initiative aimed at producing Barangay Patrol Sidecar Units for distribution to 505 barangays across the province.

The project seeks to create sustainable income for community members while supporting local governance through the provision of essential mobility units.

Among the groups that received assistance were the Bayung Aslag Fabricator Association SLPA (Floridablanca), RPL Metal Fabrication SLPA (Sta. Rita), and AA Sidecar Maker SLPA (Magalang).

During the turnover, Governor Pineda encouraged the associations to continue their livelihood activities and assured them of sustained government support.

“Kailangan natin ng limang daang sidecar, kaya ituloy ninyo ang inyong paggawa. Nandiyan ang patuloy na suporta ng DSWD, at kapag natapos ninyo ang mga ito, babayaran ng Kapitolyo sa inyo. Sa ganitong paraan, sabay nating napapalago ang kabuhayan at natutulungan ang bawat barangay,” Governor Pineda said.

Governor Pineda emphasized that the Provincial Government continues to work closely with the DSWD in implementing livelihood programs that provide long-term opportunities for Kapampangans. She noted that empowering communities through local enterprise and skills development is essential to achieving inclusive growth and self-sufficiency.

In addition to the livelihood assistance, around 500 beneficiaries also received ₱3,000 in financial aid each under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) or “AKAP” program of the DSWD, along with food packs from the Provincial Government.

One of the beneficiaries, Erlinda Concepcion, expressed her gratitude for the assistance she received.

“Malaking tulong ito para sa aming mahihirap. Gagawin ko po itong puhunan para sa tindahan ko po, kaya maraming salamat po sa grasyang pinagkaloob ninyo po sa amin,” she said.

The additional assistance provides immediate relief to families in need and reflects the continued commitment of both the national and provincial governments to uplift the welfare and livelihood of every Kapampangan.
