Technical Education and Skills Development Authority Provincial Director Belinda Labutong and City Mayor Marino P. Morales sign a Memorandum of Agreement on Service Consumer Electronic Products and Systems training for Mabalaquenos on Monday, July 11. Under the approved Bottom-Up Budgeting (BuB) project, the local government through TESDA and Dionisio S. Angeles Institute of Technology, the partner institution, is set to conduct a series of training on the assembly of solar night lights and post lamps. A total of P678,000 budget will be allocated to fund the skills training of 100 selected Mabalaquenos. Solar night lights can be produced using solar panels, rechargeable batteries, plastic tubing, ordinary wires, PVC pipes, LED bulbs, plastic bottles and small electronic parts.These locally-assembled portable solar night lights are seen to light more communities lacking electricity.
