Capitol inaugurates P12M new PCSO building

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The provincial government led by Governor Lilia Pineda PCSO Chairman Jose Jorge E. Corpuz on Thursday inaugurated the P12-million 2-storey Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) building at the Government Center in this city.

The inauguration was attended by members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan led by Vice Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda and municipal mayors led by Lubao Mayor Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab, among others.

With the completion of the PCSO building made possible through a partnership with the provincial government, Governor Lilia Pineda said health care services can now be provided to the marginalized sector. Meanwhile, the new building is also equipped with Small Town Lottery (STL) draw court, conference room and receiving area.

“Alam ko, malaking tulong ito sa PCSO at malaking tulong din ito sa mga Kapampangan. Para ito sa kapakanan ng ating sambayanan,” the governor said.

PCSO Pampanga branch manager Maria Lourdes Siscar-Soliman, meantime, vowed to serve the Kapampangans particularly through financial assistance.

Corpuz, for his part, thanked the governor for her generosity in providing a new office building that guarantees government services readily available to the people.

“Akala ko maganda lang, pero nakita ko sobrang ganda pala ng building. Again, PCSO is grateful to the province of Pampanga for providing our branch office here with a working area that is conducive for the personnel and for the public,” Corpuz said.

He lauded the governor for setting an example to other governors in the country to do the same. He also noted the assurance to use the building responsibly with utmost care.

He also cited Pampanga for starting STL as the only legal gambling since its outset in 2006, continuing to provide millions of revenue to the government.

At present, PCSO has provided more than P1 billion cash assistance to poor kabalens since the governor assumed office in 2010, and still continues to allot P800,000 a day as financial aid to those who are in dire need of medical assistance.
