BALANGA CITY — A team from Dinalupihan town bagged first place in the PINTAserye: Banga Painting Competition of Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Region 3.
Renz Simsuangco, Ryan Carlone Mantilla and Julius Jay Malones received Php5,000 cash prize with certificates awarded during ASEAN Campus Forum at Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU).
Moreover, the Orion team composed of Kimberly Naga, Niel de Guzman, and Erik Apostol placed second receiving Php3,000 while Orani team of Jude Rodriguez and Arthur Marcelo landed third, bringing home Php2,000.
A total of 12 teams consisting of members of arts group Guhit Pinas from different towns and city were chosen to participate in the competition.
PINTAserye was organized by PIA in partnership with Balanga City Tourism Office and Balanga City Tourism Council.
It aims to resemble the spirit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in unifying diverse people towards one identity.
The competition served as an ancillary activity of the ASEAN Campus Forum of PIA in BPSU.
“As part of hyping the Philippine Chairmanship of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) this 2017, PIA in Central Luzon will be holding campus forums in different provinces to educate and pitch support from the youth in this endeavor,” PIA Regional Director William Beltran said.
BPSU was the fifth campus it visited in Central Luzon after Tarlac State University, Central Luzon State University, Aurora State College of Technology, and Tarlac Agricultural University.
Other educational institutions it will visit this year include Ramon Magsaysay Technological University, Pampanga State Agricultural University, and Bulacan State University.
