CAMP GEN. ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan – A suspected drug dealer with an improvised shotgun was killed in a shootout with police authorities while 7 others were arrested in a series of anti-drug operations in the towns of Pulilan, San Rafael, Guiguinto and Pandi last Sunday night.
Bulacan police director Senior Supt. Romeo Caramat Jr., said Malolos City police chief Supt. Heryl Bruno reporteda that an armed encounter ensued between the Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) of Malolos City Police Station against the suspect identified only as acertain alias “Intsik”, during a buy-bust operation conducted in Sto Cristo Diversion Road, Brgy. Mabolo, City of Malolos City on September 25, 2017 at about 2:30 AM.
Bruno said that alias “Intsik” is from Brgy. Balite, Malolos City, Bulacan and is a newly identified drug personality.
Based on the report,” Intsik” sensed that he was dealing with a police officer which prompted him to draw his improvised firearm and fired towards the DEU operatives ensuing a brief firefight. The suspect’s companion left and managed to escape on board a skeleton motorcycle without plate number heading towards an unknown direction.
Bulacan Scene of the Crime Operative (SOCO) processed the crime scene and recovered the following: nine sachets of shabu; one improvised shotgun loaded with one spent shell; four pcs. of cal. 9mm cartridge; three one hundred peso bill buy-bust money; one shotgun live ammo and other drug paraphernalia.
In another police anti-drugs operations, Caramat identified the arrested suspects as Ferdinand Salvador “ Ferdie”, 43, married, vendor and a resident of Bgy, Taal Pulilan, Bulacan; Rodney Samarita,, single, a 17 years old female, single both are residents of Brgy Sta. Rita Guiguinto, Bulacan; Gilberto De Guzman y, married, resident of Brgy. Tukod, San Rafael, Bulacan; and Mark Anthony Banastao alias “Anthony”, 27 years old, of Pandi; Jomar Rivera, 23, single and Rene Vargas “Nhong”, 35, jobless, all residents of Padre Pio, Brgy Cacarong Bata, Pandi, Bulacan.
Eight sachets of “shabu”; ten paper sachets of suspected dried “Marijuana leaves” and buy-bust money were recovered during the buy-bust operations.
Caramat said the arrested suspects and recovered pieces of evidence were brought to the Bulacan Crime Laboratory Office for appropriate examination. While appropriate criminal complaints against them are now being prepared for filing in court. —EMIL G. GAMOS
