FOR MANY people around the world, Christmas is all about giving presents, extravagant decors and a feast of sumptuous foods. But for a simple Aeta community in Pampanga, Christmas is just simple and ordinary day.
On its second year, Angels’ Dream the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program of Midori Clark Hotel and Casino will once again make the celebration even brighter, more meaningful and something that always leaves a jolly mark in the heart.
“Last year, the Angels’ Dream has granted the wishes of about 300 Aeta kids. This year, bearing the tagline “Be a Blessing by Giving”, our program aims to beat 2016 record by fulfilling the wishes of 600 Aeta kids. We are encouraging our guests and business partners to sponsor a child wish, says General Manager, Vic Chan”.
Early in November along with the Christmas tree lighting ceremony, some of the 600 kids are invited to hang up their wish cards on the hotel’s Christmas tree which will be followed by a short program and lunch treats. Aside from the kids who’ll attend the Christmas tree lighting ceremony, company representatives will be visiting schools in Sitio Babo, Sapang Bato, Sitio Haduan, Sitio Monicayo, Marcos and Macapagal Village to see what the company can off er to the kids and their communities.
Knowing the kids’ wishes, this will be distributed not only to Management Team, but to the hotel-casino guests and sponsors as well. This is a way of the team to encourage everyone to spread joy and kindness to people in need specially this season of giving. Few weeks before Christmas, these children will come back for a gift-giving ceremony and they will surely be delighted as Santa Claus will personally distribute their gifts as they wished for.
From last year’s experience, little angel’s dream was not extravagant as expected. Kids nowadays usually wish for a new gadget or a toy. Surprisingly, these youngsters’ wishes are not for themselves – they are wishing for something to benefit their family. Some of the wishes received includes a kilo of rice, groceries and clothes.
