CLARK FREEPORT ZONE – What better way to remember Mimosa Leisure Estate than by reliving its beautiful landscape and establishments in paintings and giving back to society?
Quest Hotel and Conference Center, Clark launched a CSR Project hailed as Memoirs of Mimosa, which featured brilliant paintings from Don Honoria Ventura Technological State University (DHVTSU) Architecture students.
Beginning April 19, these paintings were on display at the lobby located at the hotel’s lower foyer.
Nine (9) talented artists from DHVTSU participated in the painting contest, namely Danne Alvin M. Bungay, Anthony Jorge C. Dapito, Winston B. Lagman, Bryan Jeric S. Manuel, Allan Jed W. Quinto, Sharmaine Ann M. Quizon, Aaron A. Tungcab, Marvin A. Yangco, and Jumaica S. Yusi.
On May 12, 2017, General Manager Patrick Beck, together with Quest Hotel Clark and Mimosa Golf’s Marketing Communication team and Human Resources department, paid a visit to DHVTSU to award gift certificates to the participants.
Giving Back to Society
Not only was this an avenue for these students to be recognized and preserve Mimosa through fantastically crafted paintings, it is also a medium for the whole Quest Hotel Clark family to raise funds for its chosen charity.
All paintings shall be exhibited once more after the awarding and in high hopes, auctioned off. The proceeds will go to Children’s Joy Foundation Inc., in San Fernando City, Pampanga.
Judging and Awarding
Individuals with each their own prominence and artistry were invited to judge on May 19, 2017. The panel of judges was comprised of General Manager Patrick Beck, Atty. Reydon Canlas, who calls himself as a lone wolf artist, Herminigildo Pineda, who has been awarded as the Most Outstanding Kapampangan by MOKA of Arts and Culture in the field of painting, Former Food and Beverage Manager of Chroma Hospitality Beth Sanchez, and Quest Hotel Clark’s Graphic Artist, Ian Alejandro.
On October 13, 2017, Aaron Tungcab, who portrayed the façade of the hotel building in his colorful acrylic work, emerged as champion in the Memoirs of Mimosa Painting Competition. The judges remarked that Tungcab was a master at using his medium, more so being more impressed after the artist revealed he had accomplished the painting in less than two days.
Second place went to Bryan Jeric Manuel, and third place was awarded to Anthony Jorge Dapito, who painted The Hilltop and the hotel façade respectively. Winners have been given cash prizes.
DHVTSU faculty members of the College of Engineering & Architecture were also acknowledged in assisting the whole project: Arch. Reynald C. Garcia, Arch. Emiliano G. Clemente and Arch. Ma. Cristina D. Dungca.
