CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, — Four Central Luzon Public Employment Service Offices (PESOs) bag the top prizes at the culmination of the 17th National PESO Congress.
“I am pleased to inform you that all of our entries were hailed winners at this year’s Search for the Best PESO. We salute our PESOs’ victory as they continue to champion our employment and welfare programs in the grassroots of Central Luzon, home to PESO Hall of Famers,” Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Regional Director Ana Dione said.
Winners include PESO Masinloc, Zambales under the First and Second Class Municipality category.
PESO Masinloc, which garnered notable performances on its core services, received the same national citation in 2015 as well as regional and provincial citations in 2016.
Moreover, PESO Mabalacat was hailed as co-winner in the Component City category with PESO Panabo.
PESO Olongapo, on the other hand, took home the honor in the Highly-Urbanized City category with Valenzuela while PESO Bulacan State University (BulSU) was a co-winner in the Educational Institution, Non-Government Organization, and State Universities and Colleges category with Cebu Technological University.
Mabalacat, Olongapo, and BulSU are first time national winners.
Winners each received a trophy and cash prize of Php50,000 while their respective local chief executives were also given recognition.
“The PESO entries from different parts of the country were rated on the following criteria: core services, DOLE programs implemented, institutionalization, awards received, and active involvement,” Dione explained. (CLJD-PIA 3)
