TARLAC Gov. Susan Yap, through the Provincial Cooperative and Enterprise Development Office [PCEDO] cited cooperatives, irrigators, barangays, Micro-Small and Medium Enterprises [MSME], Overseas Filipino Workers [OFW] and individuals who excelled in their respective fields.
The awarding at the Bulwagan ng mga Gubernador, conferred the outstanding barangay-microfinance program to Barangay Kalayaan, Gerona; outstanding irrigators association to Mendez Communal of Caramutan, Lapaz; outstanding MSME-class A category to La Paz Prime Foods; MSME class B category to RP Corpus Sales Enterprises and MSME class C category to Aling Saling’s Home Products.
Cooperatives who were awarded were Ablang Sapang Multi-Purpose Cooperative [MPC] as major multi-crops producer; TCA
Credit Cooperative as outstanding cooperative in academe; Camiling District Hospital MPC as outstanding employee cooperative; Tarlac Tours Service Cooperative as outstanding cooperative in tourism; Ventenilla Farmers Marketing Cooperative as outstanding cooperative in promoting production of organic rice; TARELCO II Employees MPC as best
in membership expansion and best in profitability; Hardinero Agriculture Cooperative as most promising cooperative.
Maunlad La Paz MPC as outstanding agricultural cooperative-micro scale category; Tarlac Okra Growers MPC as
outstanding agricultural cooperative-small scale category; Sapang MPC as outstanding non-agricultural cooperative-medium scale category, best in capital build-up and most dynamic cooperative; Tarlac City Government Employees MPC as outstanding non-agricultural cooperative-small scale category; Orwamco as outstanding non-agricultural cooperative-medium scale category and Tarlac State University MPC as outstanding non-agricultural cooperative-large scale
category.
Special citations were also given to Engr. Cesario Tabago as outstanding farmer in a cooperative; Caut FFS Marketing Cooperative as Provincial Rural Development Project [PRDP] recipient for Mungbean; Abagon Compact Farm and Seed Growers MPC as PRDP recipient for goat; Ranyag MPC as PRDP recipient for aromatic pigmented brown rice; San
Sotero MPC as PRDP recipient for beef cattle; CPM Producrs Cooperative as PRDP recipient for clean planting material-sweet potato and Pindangan 2nd MPC for most resilient cooperative and TSUMPC for most number of employees.
Woodinspirations Crafts, Pascasios Poterry, Potters Hand Processed Food, Blessing of Glory Enterprises, Laughing VCarabao Brewery Inc. and Porlales Bakeshop received special awards for their products.
Outstanding OFW Leadership award went to Marilou Occenola, Maricris Belen Captain Alfredo Concepcion and Roland and Gina Prado.
Florencio Bala of Naya, Pura was awarded as outstanding sub-borrower; Pedro Nicdao of Dela Paz, Tarlac city as outstanding farmer-borrower. Outstanding OFW leadership award went to Engr. Aldrin Cardenas, Medardo Alfonso and Abel David-Guevarra while Evellin Daytao was named woman entrepreneur of the year.
In her message, Governor Yap congratulated all winners.
“I congratulate all of you for an outstanding performance in your respective fields,” the governor said adding that, “It is hard to start but the success through hardship is most precious of all…I hope this inspires you.”
She likewise said that the products of Tarlac the Tarlaqueños are top-caliber.
“Tarlaqueños and its products and produce can not only compete nationally but in the international stage as well,” Yap said.
Vice Governor Carlito “Casada” David, Board Members Harmes Sembrano and Saturnino Mandal, DTI-Tarlac head Agnes Ramirez and Director Marieta Hwang of the Regional office of the Cooperative Development Authority.
