HERMOSA, Bataan – The Local Government Unit of Hermosa has achieved another milestone through bagging the highly coveted 2017 Seal of Good Local Governance running on a theme: “Pagkilala sa Katapatan at Kahusayan ng Pamahalaang Lokal” conferred by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
Mayor Jopet Inton personally received the humbling validation last November 24, 2017 at The Tent City, Manila Hotel together with other awardees like Bataan Governor Abet Garcia from the Bataan Provincial Government, Samal Mayor Gene Del Fuente, Dinalupihan Mayor Gila Garcia, Pilar Mayor Alice Pizarro, Mariveles Mayor Ace Jello Concepcion, Bagac Mayor Gab Del Rosario and Morong Mayor Cynthia Estanislao.
The Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) accentuates the vital role of local governments in helping execute national government thrusts and commitments through continuing governance reform and sustained local development. It is a progressive assessment system of the DILG to grant distinction to notable local government performance.
To become an SGLG recipient, the LGU ought to pass the “4+1” core assessment criteria; Good Financial Housekeeping, Social Protection, Disaster Preparedness, Peace and Order and at least one from the essential assessment areas – Business Friendliness and Competitiveness, Tourism Culture and the Arts, and Environmental Protection.
