CLARK FREEPORT — The Clark Development Corporation will help in the construction of a P3.4 million multi-purpose gymnasium for the Mabalacat City College.
In the signing of a Memorandum Of Agreement between CDC President-CEO Noel F. Manankil and Mabalacat City Mayor Crisostomo Garbo, the state-owned firm will allot P1.5 million for the construction of the said gym at the MCC.
Manankil, who said the project was three years in the making, thanked the MCC and Local Government Unit of Mabalacat for a strengthened partnership in carrying out programs of CDC.
“I have to thank Mabalacat and Mabalacat City College for the partnership, especially in the area of training,” he said.
He furthered that in the next five years, a total of 50,000 employees will be needed in Clark, citing that the partnership between CDC, the locators, LGUs and their extension in some educational institutions has to be strengthened.
The CDC’s contribution on the project will be used for the phase one of the gym while P1.9-million will be the counterpart fund of MCC.
During the signing, MCC President Carmelita P. Sotto recognized the effort of CDC in making the project possible while citing other educational service programs of the state-owned firm.
“Clark Development Corporation who has always possessed the reputation of generosity evident in its support to the DepEd adopt-a-school program and later on, in partnership with MCC, the Specialized Training and Employment Program for Underprivileged Persons (STEP- UP), and true enough, CDC open-handedly responded to the need (referring to the assistance provided by CDC),” Sotto said.
Sotto said the construction of the gymnasium will provide MCC students a holistic learning experience as the soon to be established structure will be an appropriate place to hold their activities.
“The improvement of the MCC covered court make it more suitable for the activities of the students and the College is undoubtedly within easier reach,” she said.
In a separate statement, Garbo also acknowledged the state-owned firm and said that Mabalacat City will continue to support the programs of CDC.
“Sa inyo pong lahat sa CDC, maraming salamat po. Rest assured na kaisa nyo po kami sa lahat ng mga programa ninyo,” he said.
As a commitment to the community, CDC continuously extends assistance and support by formulating educational, health and livelihood programs to uplift the lives of the people living in the communities within and around the Freeport.
Also witnessing signing ceremonies are CDC Assistant Vice President for External Affairs Rommel Narciso, City Legal Officer Atty. Emmanuel Ignacio, and City Administrator Rosano Pacquia.
