A group of entrepreneurial mothers gathered over the weekend at Vista Mall in the City of San Fernando for the first staging of Mompreneur Fair.
Organized by the Local Government of San Fernando, through its City Tourism Office, in partnership with the Gender and Development Focal Point System and Soroptimist International Pampanga Star, the activity seeks to promote entrepreneurship among women, especially moms.
The participants showcased variety of their products and services such as food, art crafts, clothes, cosmetics, and home accessories.
A seminar on Child Nutrition and Complementary Feeding was also held in support of the ‘Eat Right’ campaign of Ines Fernandez commonly known as Nanay Ines. She is the founder of a mother-led movement called Arugaan that promotes breastfeeding, responsible childcare, and the preparation of indigenous, nutritious baby foods to mothers in rural communities.
In an interview, Mayor Edwin “EdSa” Santiago furthered that the event also serves as a celebration of the sacrifices and success of super moms not only for their families but for the entire community.
“Hinihikayat namin ang bawat kababaihan at ina na huwag limitahan ang kanilang mga sarili sa mga gawaing bahay. Bagamat ito ay isang ulirang tungkulin, dapat pa rin nilang ipakita at ipagmalaki ang kanilang mga natatanging galing at talento,” he added.
