CLARK FREEPORT – The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), in partnership with AlloyMTD Philippines Inc. recently announced the construction of a world-class sports facility in the New Clark City as they commence withtheir first concrete pouring of the said facility.
According to AlloyMTD Philippines President, Patrick Nicholas David, the stadium is considered one of the biggest projects in the development of the New Clark City, knowing that the Philippines will be hosting the 2019 Southeast Asian (SEA) games.
“This is a huge fulfillment as we pursue the swift development of the New Clark City national government center that will house modern training facilities and an athletes’ village,” David said.
Nicholas furthered that the stadium is the first in the Philippines that will have a 9 lane class one track and a first indoor dry land diving training center in the country. These amenities are approved in the standards of International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF).
For the commercial building, a 500 room Athletes’ village that can house 1,000 athletes is to be built. One feature that the Athletes’ village will have ] is accessible rooms for Persons With Disabilities (PWD). The supposedly commercial area in the ground floor was taken out to give way to the PWD rooms.
The sports and the commercial service facilities are expected to be finished on October 15, 2019. However, David mentioned that the construction is ahead of its schedule and people can expect the stadium earlier.
