OLONGAPO CITY — One of the most wanted criminals in entire Luzon was arrested here on Saturday, police say.
June Ceasar Lim Sabangan, 27, was arrested along Parola, Lower Barangay Kalaklan, this city.
Sabangan, according to police, was a “notorious robber” of money remittance centers in Luzon, particularly in Bulacan, Cavite, Makati, La Union-Pangasinan and Olongapo City.
Aside from robbery, Sabangan, was involved in several criminal activities, including rape and violence against women, authorities said.
Sabangan, a native of Pagwadaan, Barangay Madamba, Dingras, Ilocos Norte and currently residing at Apache St. Clark Field, Mabalacat City, Pampanga was arrested after a concerned citizen tipped off the police about the presence of a suspicious person within the Parola Beach.
During interrogation at the police station here, Sabangan finally disclosed his true identity to the duty police investigator in the presence of credible witnesses and voluntarily confessed that he committed following crimes: robbery hold-up at the LBC Branch in Lolomboy, Bulacan sometime in 2016; robbery hold-up with rape at the LBC Branch in General Trias, Cavite sometimes in the 3rd Quarter or October 2016 robbery hold-up at the LBC Branch near the PNR Station, Makati City sometime in the last Quarter of 2016 robbery hold-up at the LBC Branch in San Fernando City, La Union sometime in August 2017; and robbery hold-up at the LBC Branch along Magsaysay Drive, Brgy. East Tapinac, Olongapo City on October 14, 2017.
Sabangan has been in hiding since 2016 after authorities verified his true identity and modus.
Sabangan is currently detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 3, Olongapo City Police. (Dante M. Salvana)
