CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – Eight suspected illegal drugs personalities were killed while 27 others arrested in a series of anti-narcotics operations that started midnight up to dawn of Wednesday in different areas in Bulacan, Central Luzon police director Chief Supt. Amador Corpus announced.
Corpus said those killed drug personalities traded shots with lawmen during buy bust. “They choose to fight with our lawmen, kaya napatay sila.”
Armed encounter, Corpus said took place in the towns of Hagonoy, Calumpit, Pandi, Obando, Pulilan, Meycauayan and other parts of Bulacan. He said 62 plastic sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) with an average weight of 13.8 grams were found in the suspect’s possession.
“The concentration of illegal drugs trade is is Meycauayan City”, said Corpus as he ordered other provincial and city police office to launch similar operations against group of criminal gang engage in the distribution of illegal drugs.
Corpus pointed out that all the eight fatalities were killed in police operations.
Lawmen also found several handguns including six pieces of calibre 38 revolvers, a calibre 22 and a calibre 25 pistol and a homemade 12-gauge shotgun.
Last year alone, more than a dozen of illegal drugs traffickers were killed in drug bust in Bulacan. But despite of the violent and bloody campaign drug trade remain unabated in that province and other parts of region 3.
Corpus said the campaign against prohibited substance and street peddlers will stay until these criminals ceased to exist.
Bodies of the fallen drug suspects were taken by their relatives and brought to their respective residences, while those arrested were sent to different police stations for further investigation and documentation.
